My Priorities

1

Your safety comes first

You should feel safe in your homes and businesses. I will prioritize supporting police and fire department recruitment, training, operations, and funding. Furthermore, I will ensure that the city's safety staff is effectively working with you, the people they serve.

2

Good jobs now and in the future

Good, well-paying jobs are crucial for sustaining and growing Knoxville's economy. They provide for families, strengthen our neighborhoods, and create a bright future for our children. I will actively promote policies that attract these jobs to Knoxville and support the ones already established.

3

Preserving and protecting Knoxville's neighborhoods

Neighborhoods are the backbone of our city. They play a vital role in supporting families and contribute significantly to Knoxville. As most people's largest investment, their homes deserve the best possible city services for the taxes they pay.

4

Mental health, addiction, and homelessness

These issues are often interrelated, and I believe that we can do better at serving people in crisis. Our citizens deserve better. I support better access to treatment for those who are experiencing mental health, addiction or homeless issues.

Why I’m Running

I have lived in Knoxville my entire life, and I am committed to helping Knoxville be the best that it can be.

Public service is my passion and I am honored to currently serve as chairman of the Knoxville-Knox County Planning Commission. I also serve on the Knoxville-Knox County Sports Authority Board. The Sports Authority Board makes decisions on the city’s new multi-use stadium, which will be home to both the Knoxville Smokies baseball team and our new soccer team, One Knoxville SC. It is an exciting time for our city, and I am thankful to be a part of that process.

Knoxville has grown over the years, and I believe the growth is due to our priorities and values. I want to preserve the values that make our city great and find solutions for some of the challenges our city faces. I will prioritize public safety and smart sustainable growth for our city. I also will prioritize expanding treatment and support for those dealing with mental health challenges, addiction and homelessness.

I love Knoxville. I love the beauty, history, and most of all, the people. I hope to earn your support. If given the opportunity, I look forward to serving you on City Council.
