Hi, I’m Tim Hill
I am proud to be a Knoxville native, and I am seeking to serve as a Knoxville City Council member. I am passionate about promoting Knoxville’s values by prioritizing public safety, sustainable economic growth and broadening access to treatment and support for those experiencing mental health challenges, addiction or homelessness.
My Priorities
Public safety
I will support policies that will increase recruitment and retention of our first responders, as well as funding to train and equip police and fire departments to keep our community safe.
Sustainable economic growth
Smart economic development is the key to sustaining our thriving city as we grow.
I support planning that protects neighborhoods, provides needed and desired services and promotes investment and expansion of new and existing businesses.
Mental health, addiction and homelessness
These issues are often interrelated, and I believe that we can do better at serving people in crisis. Our citizens deserve better. I support better access to treatment for those who are experiencing mental health, addiction or homeless issues.
Why I’m Running
I have lived in Knoxville my entire life, and I am committed to helping Knoxville be the best that it can be.

Public service is my passion and I am honored to currently serve as chairman of the Knoxville-Knox County Planning Commission. I also serve on the Knoxville-Knox County Sports Authority Board. The Sports Authority Board makes decisions on the city’s new multi-use stadium, which will be home to both the Knoxville Smokies baseball team and our new soccer team, One Knoxville SC. It is an exciting time for our city, and I am thankful to be a part of that process.
Knoxville has grown over the years, and I believe the growth is due to our priorities and values. I want to preserve the values that make our city great and find solutions for some of the challenges our city faces. I will prioritize public safety and smart sustainable growth for our city. I also will prioritize expanding treatment and support for those dealing with mental health challenges, addiction and homelessness.

I love Knoxville. I love the beauty, history, and most of all, the people. I hope to earn your support. If given the opportunity, I look forward to serving you on City Council.
